Nokia ‘Corolla’ First 8mp Nokia & 2009 Portfolio Leak!

A recently leaked Nokia 2009 Portfolio shows the ‘Corolla’ will be the first 8 megapixel Nokia phone and seems to be dated for March 2009 and features quite an impressive spec list if i do say so myself.
March was the date I had heard from a reliable source for a 8 megapixel Nokia and this seems to back it up although the date and specs are far from confirmed.
Specs are said to include:
- 8 Megapixel Camera
- 3 inch VGA Screen (Non Touch)
- Series 60 version 5.0.1 OS
- 1/2 QWERTY Keyboard
- 8GB Memory
- WiFi
- HSDPA/HSUPA
- FM Transmitter
- AGPS
Other phones are set to be
- Gwen – Candybar, AGPS, 5MP AF camera with LED flash
- Ivalo - 3.5-inch wide touchscreen, 32GB ROM, AGPS, FM transmitter and receiver, 5MP camera, WiFi, TV-out, Bluetooth
- Madeleine – Side-sliding QWERTY, WiFi, Bluetooth, FM radio, VoIP, GPS, 3.2MP camera, N-Gage support with gaming keys
- Eitri – Landscape candybar with QWERTY, 3.5-inch 640×350 display, minimum 8GB ROM, microSD, pressure sensitive touch UI with tactile feedback and gestures, charging via USB, 5MP AF camera with dual LED flash, integrated compass and accelerometer, proximity sensor, FM transmitter
Again this list is not 100% because phones might come off or change nearer the time, but it does look like a great year for Nokia!

Wow nice find Dan, and just less then 24 hours after we were discussing how boring Nokia have become releasing N95 “clones” all over the place, this pops up and makes things a whole lot more interesting!

Dear Nokia, Plz DONT make this a slider phone. It has good features – ideal bizfon !! Many companies aren’t allowing camera phones.
* BUT I guess for HSPA feature, the camera for video-call should be fine. An 8 megapixel means this feature will dominate the phone aesthetics.
* Can you come up with a combination of large phone (big buttons for fat fingers) and above features with a bare minimum megapixel camera – say a above features combined with those of E71 and a nice chunky yet sleek phone WITHOUT slider !!??

The N97 appears to be the ‘Ivalo’ from the list. Follow-on to IP08. 3.5-inch wide touchscreen, 32GB ROM, AGPS, FM transmitter and receiver, 5MP camera, WiFi, TV-out, Bluetooth…… seems spot on to me
they’re not going to release the 8mpx phone on time they’re already behind SE, Samsung and LG when it comes to proper camera phones, too bad nokia lost its edge over its competitors.
