Comes With Music Available Tomorrow

The Carphone Warehouse has announced that the ground-breaking Nokia Comes With Music service will go on sale on 16 October 2008, at a one-off cost of £129.95 which includes a Nokia 5310 XpressMusic handset.

Nokia Comes With Music is a totally new way for people to discover and enjoy music: a year of unlimited access to millions of tracks, to keep forever, for a one-off fee. The Carphone Warehouse will be offering the Nokia Comes With Music service exclusively on Pay As You Go, from 805 Carphone Warehouse stores and online at www.carphonewarehouse.com. The service will be available with the Nokia 5310 XpressMusic handset and furthermore, the handset will be available with seven exclusive colour variants to suit your style.

Nokia Comes With Music allows tracks to be downloaded directly to your PC, from where they can then be transferred to the handset. Users can enjoy the freedom to experiment, sample brand new music and try something new. Every musical genre can be explored, from hip hop to jazz, pop to classical, giving music fans the chance to look up old favourites or dip into the latest new releases. To make the service even more attractive, downloaded tracks are yours to keep – for no additional fee.

A collaboration with Universal Music Group International, EMI and Sony BMG Entertainment will give consumers instant access to a diverse array of international artists’ material, from Iron Maiden to Hot Chip. This exceptional offering enables users to access over millions of tracks from the extensive Nokia Music Store catalogue. Tracks can be simply downloaded to either a PC or mobile phone, meaning music lovers nationwide will never be stuck without something new to listen to.

Once the year is complete, customers can keep all of their music, without having to worry about it disappearing when their subscription is over. There is also a number of attractive options to continue downloading new music: users will be able to purchase additional tracks from the Nokia Music Store, or move on to a Nokia ‘unlimited access’ subscription service to enjoy new releases and catalogue tracks not downloaded during the initial year.

Andrew Harrison, UK CEO of The Carphone Warehouse said: “We’re delighted to be able to offer this revolutionary music service to our customers at such a compelling price and anticipate demand to be exceptionally strong, especially in the run-up to Christmas. Music lovers nationwide will now be able enjoy access to millions of tracks for a one-off charge. We believe this to be the best music offering available which completely breaks the mould of conventional online music purchases.”
